Tour Itinerary | Day 1
After your luxury coach pick up at Dublin airport, we drive west through the Irish countryside from Dublin toward Connemara and Lough Corrib, to the site of the famous and superb Ashford Castle. Enjoy lunch in the quaint village of Cong with it's colorful shopfronts and pubs before enjoying a tour of the stunning grounds and historic castle - an Irish icon. Unwind from your travels and relax in the Irish air, and perhaps join in with a chef led foraging walk through the woodland and gardens of Ashford before enjoying the best of Irish cuisine in the wonderful Wilde's at the Lodge restaurant. Welcome to Ireland!
This morning, after a wonderful Irish breakfast, we board our coach to journey to the iconic Cliffs of Moher in County Clare - stunning sea cliffs that have featured in many movies over the years, and a sight that will literally take your breath away! Visit O'Brien's tower and marvel at this natural wonder stretching out to the Atlantic! In Clare, we will also drive through The Burren, a scenic area of limestone stretching out to the sea, and stop in several of the small picturesque villages to shop and sightsee along the way before returning to the Lodge at Ashford Castle for another top notch Irish dining experience.
This morning we leave Ashford bound for the iconic Kylemore Abbey in Connemara where we will tour the romantic house and walled gardens, enjoying tea or coffee in the beautiful surroundings. Then north to Sligo, stopping off at the gravesite of Irish poet W.B. Yeats before continuing our journey to the shores of Lough Erne in County Fermanagh and the wonderful Lough Erne Resort. Relax by the lakeside before we enjoy an incredible dining experience with Ireland’s top chef, Noel McMeel, in the famed Catalina restaurant. A perfect end to the day.
After enjoying an Irish breakfast at Erne we board our coach to drive west into the beautiful scenery of County Donegal with some of the most unspoiled vistas in Europe. On the way we will stop in Donegal Town for some sight seeing and shopping in this picturesque small Irish town with it's historic castle and quant shops. In Donegal Town we will also visit Donegal Tweed to experience traditional Irish weaving in action before we journey to tour the famous Beleek Pottery Factory. Ending the day back at Lough Erne with plenty of time to relax before dinner.
This morning we leave the lake at Lough Erne and drive north and east toward the beautiful and dramatic Antrim Coast, also known as the 'Causeway Coast', named for the world heritage site of the Giant's Causeway. Whilst here, will also visit the world famous 'Bushmills Whiskey Distillery', the world's oldest, and stop at the stunning Dunluce Castle before making our way to County Down and our next overnight stay at the wonderful Slieve Donard Hotel, situated right on the beach with the most incredible mountain views - enjoy!
After our Irish breakfast this morning, gazing out to sea towards the Mountains of Mourne, we take a short drive to discover the folklore of St. Patrick in Downpatrick. Amongst the stunning mountain scenery, we meet with Dr. Tim Campbell, an Irish historian to tour Down Cathedral and Saul,- the site of Patrick's first settlement from the 5th century! Leaving Downpatrick, we make our way to the charming 18th century village of Hillsborough & tour Hillsborough Castle, the Queen's Royal Residence. Take time shop and stroll in this most picturesque village with all it's wonderful and pubs and shops before we dine in style at Balloo Coach House nearby, hosted by Chef Danny Miller - one of Ireland's best chef's. A spectacular day in County Down!
Today we leave County Down for Dublin, Ireland’s capital and a day of sight seeing in this wonderful European city. Enjoy the sights of Dublin, including a tour of Trinity College, where the much fabled Book of Kells is on display next to the world famous Long Room Library. In Dublin's fair city we will also enjoy a memorable dinning experience in the historic Shelbourne Hotel, one of the sites that was key to Ireland's independence struggle in 1921. After our farewell dinner together in the Shelbourne, we end the day at the superb Carlton Hotel, close to the airport, as we prepare to leave Ireland after an incredible week of Irish life!
The location of the Carlton Hotel at Dublin Airport makes our depture this morning completely stress free - enjoy your last Irish breakfast and relax as transportation runs every 15 minutes to the terminal. Good luck, as we say goodbye to Ireland, filled with memories!

All tips are covered for hotels and evening dining throughout the tour, however, a gratuity will be offered to our coach driver on the last evening of our tour. Tips will be at your discretion and dependent on the service you feel we received on the tour. As a guideline for good service between $5-$7 pp a day (or Euro equivalent) is suggested.
