Why not add a little sparkle in to your Guinness… with a little Champagne? The Black velvet is a special cocktail made with equal parts Champagne and Guinness., and a splash of blackcurrant liquor. The drink was created om 1861 by a bartender in London to mourn the death of Prince Albert, who said even the champagne should be in mourning. The velvety texture of the champagne and Guinness proved to be delicious, and a popular cocktail to this very day
So, here is the recipe, just in time for the weekend!
Black Velvet Cocktail!
- 4 oz. Guinness
- 4 oz. champagne
- 1 Tbsp. crème de cassis
How to make it
- Pour the champagne halfway in to a tall, chilled champagne flute.
- Slowly pour over the Guinness beer that will float on top of the champagne.
- Top with the crème de cassis.
